I founded TimberChain on a simple observation: most certification doesn’t work as well as it should.

Companies approach Chain of Custody certification as a compliance exercise — train staff, pass the audit, renew every few years. The certificate is obtained, but the opportunity is missed.

Effective certification delivers more than market access. Properly implemented, it strengthens operational control, improves material traceability, and builds the supply chain credibility that buyers and regulators increasingly require.

I have fifteen years in timber certification, forest governance and sustainability policy across the Asia-Pacific:

  • Senior roles with PEFC and CertiSource
  • Project and policy work with UNDP and international NGOs
  • Design of national-level Chain of Custody, timber legality and SFM systems used across multiple jurisdictions
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Development Studies and Business Administration
  • Qualified and experienced educator — staff sessions are run to check understanding, not just deliver slides
